Q: WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THESE SO-CALLED ‘ISLAMIC’ RADIO STATIONS? AND ARE THERE ANY PROPER ‘ISLAMIC’ RADIO STATIONS?
THE REASON I AM ASKING IS BECAUSE I VISITED THE WEBSITE OF RADIO AL-ANSAAR AND I FOUND THEM ADVERTISING A HARAAM SOCCER AWARDS EVENT. THIS AWARDS NEWS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ISLAM. I UNDERSTAND PROFESSIONAL SOCCER TO BE HARAAM. THIS IS SO OBVIOUS. WHERE IS THE ULAMA OR SO-CALLED ULAMA OF RADIO AL-ANSAAR TO STAND UP AND SPEAK AGAINST ALL THE HARAAM? PHOTOS HAVE ALL OF A SUDDEN BECOME HALAAL! THEY MENTION HOW MANY GAMES THIS PLAYER PLAYED AND HOW MANY GOALS HE SCORED! IS THIS HOW ‘ISLAMIC’ STATIONS SUPPOSED TO BE? IS IT NOT NECESSARY TO BOYCOTT THESE STATIONS OF THE DEVIL?
A: It is obviously not permissible for a Muslim to listen to Radio Al-Ansaar or any of the other so-called ‘Islamic’ radio stations like ‘Radio Islam’, ‘Voice of the Cape’, Radio 786, etc etc.
There is so much Haraam propagated and associated with these ‘Muslim’ stations that it would be difficult to declare any of these radio stations as ‘Islamic’. The best is to boycott them for the safety of one’s Imaan. We are unaware of any proper ‘Islamic’ radio station.
We also make it clear that it is not permissible to listen to any of these radio stations as they are propagating Haraam in the name of Deen!
