As far as the Mass Mawlids are concerned, a 24-page booklet has been published which explains why the Mass Mawlids are Haraam. Hitherto, none of the participants nor any of the Mudhilleen have been able to refute or respond to the undeniable truth which has been written in the 24-page exposure of the Mass Mawlids and Grand Mouloods which are Mass Bid’ahs and Grand Bid’ahs which comprise of a mass of incontestable Haraam acts!

The Haraam Mass Mawlid of 1438 is presented by MawlidSA just like all the other Haraam Mass Mawlids. MawlidSA has advertised on its Baatil-Bid’ah website the last page (i.e. page 40) of the November edition of the so-called ‘Muslim’ Views tabloid. We had written a booklet also in refutation of Dangor’s diatribe against the Ulama which also appeared in the ‘Mudhil’-paper deceptively called ‘Muslim’ Views. Whilst it may contain the views of ‘Muslims’, the paper ‘Muslim Views’ is bereft of any Islamic status nor does it reflect any proper Islamic articles. It is a liberal paper filled with much junk.

Tasleema Allie’s name appears underlined in capital letters on top of the left-hand corner of the page. Her article is concerning the Mass Mawlid to be held at the Century City Conference Centre. The venue alone speaks volumes of the content. Likewise, the so-called ‘Nurul Islam’ Centre in Lenasia being the venue of the recent ‘SAUF’ gathering also speaks volumes of the type of gathering and the type of people being gathered.

Just to divert a little bit, we should understand that sincere people in search of the Haqq are not so stupid and so somnolent like those in search of Baatil. They understand very well that the Ulama-e-Haq don’t utilise venues where Haraam flagrantly takes place as a suitable location for their discussions or for their Eid Salaah, etc. And the non-utilization of a Haraam venue is in fact according to the teachings of Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam.

Are we unware of the incident where Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam prohibited the Sahaabah from even using the water of a certain place where they stopped by, merely because of the Athaab (punishment) of Allah being on such a place??? Thus, the utilization of an accursed venue where Haraam takes place, is sufficient evidence for all intelligent people to understand that the gathering/function/conference is in fact in conflict with the Shariah where Haraam, Baatil and Bid’ah are to be found.

Tasleema Allie begins her article with the following Hadeeth: “THE Messenger of Allah said, ‘He who does not follow my sunnah is not from me.’ (Bukhari)” SUBHAANALLAH! It makes us wonder why the Mawlid only began after 6 centuries and why didn’t the greatest lovers of Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam, viz. The Sahaabah, have any Moulood? Were the Sahaabah unaware of the Hadeeth which states that the one who turns away from the Sunnah of Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam, is not from amongst us! But, to the contrary, the silly Mass Mawlids and stupid Grand Mouloods violate many Sunnah acts. Furthermore, it is a blatant lie to claim or imply that Mawlid/Meelaad/Moulood is Sunnah! Rather, all these Moulood functions are Haraam celebrations of Nafsaaniyyat and Shaitaaniyyat!

Now just read the following nonsense: “Mawlid SA, in its fifth annual Mass Mawlid, extends an invitation to Muslims and non-Muslims to a gathering of remembrance, dhikr, teachings and praise upon the Prophet Muhammad (SAW).” How will Non-Muslims praise Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam? They do Bid’ah Mawlid, but they don’t have respect for Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam. They write ‘SAW’ ‘PBUH’, and other abbreviations after the Mubaarak Name of our Nabi Muhammed Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam. Don’t they know that Durood is to be sent after the name of Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam which precludes the usage of abbreviations which are obviously not Duroods!

You wish to praise and honour Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam, but you commit so much Haraam! What type of an example will Mass Mawlid circuses be to a non-Muslim who could simply attend a Haraam real circus with clowns, lions and Table-Mountain baboons or visit the Haraam Ratanga Junction or go watch rubbish at a cinema or some Haraam sports match at some stadium in Cape Town???

How can we be a proper example to non-Muslims when we violate the Shariah and murder the Sunnah of Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam by breaking every law of Hijab, women not covering their faces, honouring Fussaaq, music, Bid’ah, women and men intermingling, photography, videoing, etc etc???

She states: “Among the guests are two world-renowned praise reciters of the Prophet (SAW), one from Egypt and the other from Pakistan.” What is so renowned about the two Shayaateen and the other Shayaateen such as Ninowy and all the other corrupt Tariqahs of Shaitaaniyyat? What is so good about some praise reciters who shamelessly shave their beards in conflict with all four Math-habs? Don’t they know that Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam said that Allah commanded him to lengthen the beard and shorten the moustaches? Do you think Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam is happy with people who shave their beards and prefer to look like the Kuffaar?

Tasleema Allie quotes the Hadeeth from Bukhari, but she does not apply her mind. Don’t these Shaafis know that the great Allamah Haleemi (403 Hijri) compared shaving the beard to cutting off the penis? It is common sense that trimming the beard less than a fist is Haraam and shaving is worst. The element of Tashabbuh (emulating the Kuffaar) is just too glaring for any explanation.

The Qur’aan brands music as Sautush Shaytaan (the voice of Shaytaan). Why didn’t Tasleema Allie quote the Hadeeth which states that Music breeds hypocrisy just as water grows plants! This is in fact a sign of hypocrisy as music breeds hypocrisy. Furthermore, there is Ijmaa’ on the prohibition of music. And to seal to case, professional singing is not permissible. Consider the following texts of the Shaafi Math-hab:

  • Shaikhul Islam Ahmad Bin Yahya Bin Muhammad Al-Hafeedul Harwari (rahmatullah alayh), a very senior Shaafi Faqeeh, writes:

To listen to the singing of a woman and a lad is unanimously haraam. Similarly musical instruments associated with drunkards are haraam, such as tablah (musical drum), tambourine, flute, harp, Iraqi flute and all other musical instruments and different kinds of guitars are haraam.” (Majmuatul Hafeed)

  • About professional singing, Allaamah Ibn Hajar Makki (rahmatullah alayh states several views as follows:

It is absolutely haraam. According to Imaam Qurtubi, this is also according to the Math-hab of Imaam Maalik (Rahmatullah alayh). Abu Ishaaq said: ‘I asked Imaam Maalik about the leniency shown towards singing in Madinah, and he replied: ‘In Madinah too singing is the practice of the fussaaq (immoral violators of the Shariah). The masses (in Madinah) consider it forbidden. This is the way of the people of Madinah.’ Ibrahim Bin Sa’d is a solitary exception who does not see anything wrong in it.

Imaam Abu Hanifah and all the Ulama of Kufa among whom are Hadhrat Ibraaheem Nakh’i, Imaam Sha’bi, Hammaad, Sufyaan Thauri and others, are unanimous in this ruling (of prohibition).

Two views are attributed to Imaam Shaafi and Imaam Ahmad. The one view is absolutely haraam.

Haarith Muhasabi says that singing is just as haraam as carrion (dead animals). In two places of Imaam Raafi’i’s famous kitaab, Ash-Sharhul Kabeer, it is mentioned with much clarity: ‘Singing is haraam’. In Raudhah, Imaam Nawawi adopted this view.

Another view is: Engrossment in singing renders it haraam. However, if one sings in an impromptu manner for a short while, then it is permissible.

If a person is alone in his house and sings, it is permissible otherwise haraam….” (Kaf-fur Ruaa’)

  • Notwithstanding his leniency in the matter of singing, Imaam Ghazaali (rahmatullah alayh) states:

“According to Imaam Shaafi (rahmatullah alayh) the testimony of a professional singer is rejected because singing is an abhorrent and Makrooh profession.” (Ihyaaul Uloom)

On the one side, the so-called ‘Muslim’ views-newspaper talks of Sunnah, but on the other side they promote Haraam Mass Mawlids like hypocrites. The Qur’aan, ‘Sunnah’, Ijmaa’ and rules of the Shariah declare music to be Haraam. There is no legitimate difference on music. We will issue thorough befitting responses to those who wish to make Halaal what Allah Ta’ala and His Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam has made Haraam. Those who tried to make music Halaal, have miserable failed. So take heed, as fools rush in a place where angels dread to enter!

Likewise, it is Haraam to listen to Bid’ati Mostafa Atef just as it is Haraam to listen to Bid’ati Raza Qadri. Their singing profession is abhorrent just as how Imaam Shaafi Rahimahullah has stated. For more quotes on woman singing and professional singing, kindly view the booklet on Mass Mawlids.

The following appears: “The pre-Mawlid programmes start with a special dhikr on Thursday, December 15, 2016, after Maghrib, at Habibia Soofie Masjid, in Rylands Estate, and Jumuah at Masjidul-Quds (Gatesville), on Friday, December 16, 2016, welcoming all the dignitaries set to be at this year’s event.”

The Habibia Soofie ‘Mosque’ and the ‘Mosque-al-Quds’ are more like churches and temples. There is not much difference between churches and these mosques. We had even written a booklet against the Habibia Soofie-goofies on the issue of women attending the Eidgah. All the booklets are available on our website. Precisely, Allamah Ibn Hajar Haitami, a great Shaafi Faqeeh stated:

.And, no one will hesitate in prohibiting women (from the Musjid, the Eidgah, the shopping malls, and emerging from the home in general) except a ghabi (moron) who is a jaahil, and who lacks ability in understanding the subtleties of the Shariah …………The correct verdict is categorical Tahreem (i.e. haraam for women to come to the Musjid), and this is the Fatwa. And, this in a nutshell is our (Shaafi’ Math-hab).” (Kifaayatul Akhyaar)

Both these so-called Mosques host much Bid’ah and Haraam. Hence, they are more like temples. Women must remain at home – not in public. Allah Ta’ala commands women to remain glued to their homes.

The article also mentions: “The Mass Mawlid 1438 programme continues its mass dhikr as last year with representations by six of Cape Towns biggest tariqas: Shadilli Qaderi, Shadilli Darqawi, Buzme Chiragh, Sultan Bahu, Naqshabandi and the Alawi Husaini Ninowi Zawiya.”

The Mass Thikr is another Mass Bid’ah. Hazrat Abdullah Bin Mas’ood Radhiyallahu branded those who participated in congregational thikr as Bid’atis. This alone shows that these so-called tariqas are cults of Satanism and Bid’ati nonsense. Ninowy is also a deviate just like the others.

We do not hate any one in person for his Haraam. We hate his act. In addition, we are not allowed to honour Fussaaq, Mudhilleen, Bid’atis and Ulama-e-Soo. However, Haraam is Haraam and malice is to be shown towards Haraam. Love is only for the Sunnah, but the Mass Mawlids are bankrupt when it comes to the Sunnah. There is no love towards Bid’ah and Bid’atis as Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam has said:

“Whoever honours a man of Bid’ah, he has aided in the destruction of the Deen.”

As far as unity is concerned, we had written a detailed article against the ‘Voice of the Cape’ which is available on our website. We have already explained love and Thikr and we should understand that love lies in following the Sunnah meticulously which is not found in people who indulge openly in Haraam.

We also don’t understand from where these MawlidSA Shayaateen learnt of women marshals! Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam said: “when a woman leaves her home, then Shaitaan lies in ambush for her.” The Mass Mawlids, Grand Mouloods and lady mawlids are all Haraam.

The Sahaabah and their students understood Ibaadat the best. Celebrating the birth of Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam is a new concept which evolved approximately 600 years after Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam. All the arguments of the Bid’atis are baseless and baatil. Insha Allah detailed booklets would be prepared against all the silly and baseless arguments of Ninowy, Qadri, Sultan Bahu and all the other deviates Insha Allah. For example, they quote an Aayat, and totally misinterpret it by intentionally casting a blind eye towards the Sahaabah who understood the Qur’aan better than any of the Mawlid/Milad/Meelaad/Mowlood/moulood Bid’atis which abound in this age of Fitnah!

The auspicious month of Ramadaan is such a great month that innumerable Kitaabs have been written specifically about the virtues and laws applicable to the holy month of Ramadaan. It is indeed only a very unfortunate person who does not derive benefit from Ramadaan and who is unable to abstain from sin during this great month.

Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam has described Ramadaan as a ‘Mubaarak month’! The fact that Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam declared Ramadaan as a Mubaarak month is indeed a great gift for the Ummah of Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam. This gift deserves much respect. Watching Television, Facebook, etc. is amongst the worst forms of disrespect to the Mubaarak Month of Ramadaan!

With specific reference to Ramadaan, Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam has said, “It is the month of Sabr (patience) and the reward of Sabr (patience) is Jannah!” It is very important that we control our anger.

It is mentioned in the Hadeeth that one receives the reward of a Fardh of another month for performing a Nafl in Ramadaan and one receives the reward of 70 Fardh performed in another month just for performing one Fardh in the month of Ramadaan. May Allah grant us Taufeeq to practise good deeds. Ameen

Allah Ta’ala mentions explicitly the month of Ramadaan in Surah Baqarah and describes Ramadaan as the month in which the Qur’aan was revealed. The Qur’aan has also rights upon us. One of the rights of the Qur’aan is that we should make Tilaawat (i.e. reciting the Qur’aan). We should increase our Tilaawat during Ramadaan. Hadhrat Imaam Ahmad Bin Hambal (rahmatullah) once when he saw Allah Ta’ala in a dream, enquired: “O Allah! Show me a short route unto You.” The Divine Response came: “Tilaawat of the Qur’aan.” Imaam Hambal: “With understanding or without understanding?” The Divine Response: “With or without understanding.”

Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam has mentioned that the Dua of a fasting person is not rejected. The time of Iftaar is also a very auspicious time for making Dua. We should at least know the Duas when breaking the fast. Instead of indulging in worldly talk, we should rather make Dua individually with humility.

The one who does not read Taraweeh is indeed a loser. He has lost the great Thawaab of Taraweeh. Taraweeh is Sunnah and a Muslim without the Sunnah is like a ‘zombie’. Let us not destroy our Ibaadat and our Taraweeh by watching and looking at Haraam! It is necessary to state that it is Haraam to watch Makkah Taraweeh or any Taraweeh on TV. It is indeed sad that we show such carelessness to the month of Ramadaan and we have hardly any love for Taraweeh Salaah. Taraweeh is not difficult. It is very easy to perform 20 Rakaats Taraweeh. The Shayaateen are chained, yet a person misses Taraweeh???

Many people do not perform their Esha Salaah everyday in the Masaajid. Some don’t perform Taraweeh every night. The Qur’aan makes mention of Shayaateen in human form. Are we of this category which deserves Allah’s severe punishment or are we of that group of people, which qualify, for the great rewards mentioned in the Qur’aan and Hadeeth due to following the Sunnah and the laws of Allah Ta’ala?

It is mentioned in the Ahaadeeth that the Shayaateen are chained in Ramadaan. Thus, there is much wisdom in this. It aids us in making Ibaadat. But, it also indicates that most of the sin which we commit is due to our own negligence and flagrant inconsideration to the laws of Allah! Let us not destroy the rewards of our fasting and Taraweeh by indulging in that which is Haraam such as TV, photos, etc!

One of the Doors of Jannah is ‘Ar-Rayyaan’ which is for those for those who fasted in this world. Allah Ta’ala decorates Jannah for those who fast. Before the Haraam weddings which take place 99% of times amongst Muslims, we prepare months in advance for the Haraam wedding in which intermingling, music, women and girls dressing up like prostitutes, men dressing like kuffaar, videoing etc. takes place.

Now just look at the fasting person in comparison to the participant of a Haraam wedding. The real fasting person is honoured so much by Allah that long before he even enters Jannah, Allah prepares Jannah for him. One makes such preparations well in advance only for someone who is special. May Allah make us all Jannatis. Ameen. It shouldn’t be that Jahannam is being prepared for us because we attend Haraam weddings and Haraam functions. Thus, take heed and abstain from Haraam gatherings!

Whilst it is Fardh to fast from food and drink during the days of Ramadaan, it is Fardh to abstain from Haraam and all sins throughout the entire year, and even more so at auspicious places and during holy times such as Ramadaan. The Month of Ramadaan is a month whereby one gets close unto Allah. It is not a month of entertainment and dramas! It is a month of performing more good deeds and definitely abstaining from all sin. Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam has said Ameen on the Mimbar to the curse of Jibreel Alayhis Salaam upon the one who finds Ramadaan, but is not forgiven (due to sin, not fasting, not reading Taraweeh, etc.)

Let us be kinder and more generous in the month of Ramadaan. It is mentioned in the Ahaadeeth that even the fish seek forgiveness for those who are fasting. Subhaanallah! Our great isn’t Allah! The Ummah of Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam is indeed very fortunate.

It shouldn’t be that instead of our sins being forgiven, we invite Allah’s punishment. Ramadaan is a powerful month which has a powerful effect on one who treats the month of Ramadaan with due respect and act according to the demands of this noble month. Many Muslims behave like Kuffaar on Eid’s Day! They behave as if Ramadaan was a jail for them. Inna Lillaahi Wa Inna Ilayhi Raaji’oon. Undoubtedly, Ramadaan will be a jail for all hypocrites, but not for a true Muslim who follows the Shariah. We indulge in too much Haraam, hence we find Ramadaan difficult. Follow the Sunnah and the Shariah meticulously and you will feel the difference. For Allah’s sake, kindly boycott the TV for the rest of your life!

Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam made the following Dua: “May Allah Ta’ala have mercy on the one who performs four Rakaats (Sunnah) before (the Fardh of) Asr Salaah.” (Saheeh Hadeeth)

In this era, Muslims are drowning in sin. Sin invites the punishment of Allah Ta’ala. It is only by the mercy of Allah Ta’ala that the Divine punishment has not yet struck us. In the above-mentioned Hadeeth, Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam makes Dua for the one who performs the Four Rakaats Sunnah before Asr Salaah.

The virtues of performing Four Rakaats Sunnah before Asr are very great. In another Hadeeth, Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam has mentioned that the Fire of Jahannam will not touch the body of the person who performs 4 Rakaats Sunnah before Asr Salaah. Yet, in another Hadeeth, Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam has mentioned that Allah Ta’ala has made that body Haraam for the fire of Jahannam who performs Four Rakaats Sunnah of Asr Salaah!

It does not even take five minutes to earn this beautiful and accepted Dua of Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam. The four Rakaats before Asr protects one from the Fire of Jahannam. Besides these virtues, Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam performed four Rakaats Sunnah before the Fardh of Asr Salaah with one Salaam. This is mentioned in authentic Ahaadeeth.

May Allah Ta’ala grant us the ability to perform the four Rakaats Sunnah of Asr Salaah everyday. Ameen

There is a great need for an Aalim/Mufti/Sheikh to understand the disposition and objective of the Shariah before he answers any queries. When one issues a fatwa, then a person is actually saying that Allah and his Rasul Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam are saying so-and-so. Therefore, a person needs to think very carefully before he issues any Mas’alah or Fatwa. Undoubtedly, issuing fatwas is very dangerous and not the work of everyone. In fact, most Ulama are not capable of issuing proper fatwas.

The Shariah stipulates that the Eidgah is an open field located on the outskirts/boundaries of the town. It is not in the middle of the town. Furthermore, it is Sunnah to go to the Eidgah.

The argument that a sports field, school ground, university campus, etc.  is a Sunnah Eidgah is ludicrous. The following reasons explain why:

  • It is within the town. Sports fields and school grounds are not on the outskirts. It is regarded as part of the town/city.
  • A haraam venue. A stadium is not a halaal venue. Just as how a brothel, casino, cinema, pub, church, etc. are Haraam venues so too are a sports field/stadium, school ground, university campus, etc. These are not halaal venues.
  • Soccer, cricket, baseball, basketball, etc. are haraam. Going to secular school, university, ‘muslim’ school, the so-called ‘islamic’ schools, etc. is Haraam. By performing Eid Salaah at such immoral venues, people gain the impression that kuffaar sports, public schools and the so-called ‘muslim’ schools are halaal.
  • Major sins which have become acceptable and respectable norms are committed at these venues. These are  places upon which the wrath of Allah descends. A Muslim should hate such a venue of sin. A venue of sin cannever be an Eidgah even if no sins will take place at the Eidgah.
  • When the Musjid should not be used for Eid Salaah, then to a greater extent such evil places should not be used for Salaah. We also don’t understand how a haraam venue could surpass the Masjid for the Eid Salaah?
  • A Muslim should not be present at mal’oon places. These sportfields and school grounds are Mal’oon (accursed) places.  Allah’s’ curse is on them. What virtue is there on such grounds?
  • There is no need to use any of these places since there are ample empty grounds on the outskirts available for Eid Salaah. If there is no empty ground available, then the best of places, i.e. The Musaajid are available. The worst of places are not places which should be used for Salaah. A venue of sin and immorality cannot be equated to the Sunnah Eidgah.
  • Desensitizing an Imaani attribute of Hayaa. A Muslim has much Hayaa and this Hayaa prevents him from visiting a haraam place/venue. Thus, a Muslim will not even buy bread from a pub. A Muslim will not sell popcorn to those who are few steps away from the cinema entrance. His Imaan produces such an aversion for sin in him which compels him to stay away from such accursed places. By choosing a haraam venue, the Hayaa has to be very corroded and the Imaan
  • When an evil venue is chosen for a holy act such as Salaah, then this indicates much disrespect for Salaah.
  • The Sunnah Eidgah is abandoned, and this is fisq.
  • When even the Musjid is not to be used unnecessarily for Eid Salaah, then by what stretch of logic, is a Haraam sportsfield to be used for Eid Salaah?

Some arguments have been presented in defence of Eid Salaah on sportsfields, school grounds, etc. Each and every argument is drivel and misdirected. We came across an article from the UK where the performance of Eid Salaah on sportsfields, school grounds, etc. is defended. The writer clearly lacks in understanding of the Shariah.. In addition to it being unacademic, the way in which the writer reasons and presents proofs, point to the fact that he has a salafi temperament. He refers directly to the Qur’aan and Hadeeth for masaail, but does not understand that neither does he have the competency for ijtihaad, nor is ijtihaad on decided Shar’i issues permissible in this age. Some of their baseless arguments are as follows:

Some people aver that “It is reported that Ibn Abbas (R.A.) would perform his Salaah in churches if no idols or pictures were present. [Bukhari vol.1 pg.62] Thus if Salaah could be performed at the places of the Jews and Christians, it could similarly be performed at the parks, sports fields etc. (The Salaah will be absolutely valid without any decrease in the rewards).” (end of argument)

  • Firstly, it is not permissible to refer directly to the Qur’aan and Hadeeth for Masaail. The argument presented in this manner indicates the salafi tendency of the molvi.
  • Secondly, whilst the Salafi wishes to create the impression that his view of Eid Salaah at stadiums, etc. is based on Hadeeth, it is rather his personal opinion bereft of Qur’aanic and Hadith support which shall soon be examined and laid bare.
  • Thirdly, There is a difference between the validity of the Eid Salaah and the Sunnah Eidgah. Whilst Salaah would be ‘valid’, i.e. discharged at a sportsfield, it is not permissible to use a sportsfield as an Eidgah. The Sunnah Eidgah should not be confused with the Eid Salaah. We are speaking of an appropriate venue and not of the validity of the Salaah.
  • It seems as if the salafis have presented this Hadeeth of Ibn Abbas Radhiyallahu Anhu because according to the Fuqaha, one is not allowed to even enter a church or synagogue. This is explicitly mentioned by the Hanafi Fuqaha. When one is not allowed to even enter a church, then how can Salaah be performed in a church!
  • The salafi-type qiyaas presented is fallacious. If idols, pictures, crosses, etc. are removed from a church, then too a Muslim should not perform his Salaah in a church. One does not require brains to understand this fact.
  • Hazrat Ibn Abbaas Radhiyallahu Anhu’s action is an exception. The ‘church’ was merely an empty building. It was not a church like today. It was merely a building which was used as a church unlike the sportsfields, school grounds, campuses, which are currently used for Haraam.
  • Furthermore, the action of Ibn Abbaas is not meant for emulation. It merely indicates the validity of the Salaah in the absence of idols, pictures, etc. being present. We are not arguing about the validity of the Eid Salaah on a sportsground. We did not say that the Eid Salaah on a sportsground should be repeated. All what we are saying is that a sportsfield, campus, etc. is not a Sunnah Eidgah!
  • Since, the Fuqaha have ruled that it is not permissible to even enter a church, the action of Ibn Abbaas Radhiyallahu Anhu may not be interpreted to negate this Shar’i order.
  • The molvi’s averment that “Thus if Salaah could be performed at the places of the Jews and Christians, it could similarly be performed at the parks, sports fields etc.” is corrupt. What is the proof from the Fuqaha that Salaah could be performed in a church or synagogue? The molvi is not a Mujtahid. He is not a Faqeeh. Hence he speaks drivel in conflict of what the Fuqaha have stated. When it is Haraam to even enter a church, then how could it be possible for one to even perform Salaah in such a Shaitaani place? The molvi lacks proof for his claim.
  • A person will be rewarded for the Eid Salaah, but one will not attain the thawaab of the Eidgah at a sportsfield, campus, school ground, etc. How can the thawaab of a Sunnah Eidgah be attained when a sportsground, etc. does not qualify as a valid Sunnah Eidgah???
  • The Hadith of Ibn Abbaas Radhiyallahu anhu does not abrogate the Masnoon practice of the Eidgah. The qiyaas (reasoning) which seeks abrogation of a Law of the Shariah is corrupt and fallacious.

Continuing his drivel, he states: “The bazaar is also a place where many undesirable and un-Islamic activities take place. However, if the Salaah is performed at such a place the rewards are still earned totally. It is reported in a narration of Saheeh Bukhari that: “The Salaah performed with the congregation in the Masjid is twenty five times more superior than the Salaah performed at home or in the bazaar (alone).” (ibid) From the above it is clear that Salaah could be performed at the bazaar except that due to it being performed individually the rewards of jamaat (congregation) will not be obtained. However, if the Salaah is performed with the congregation even in the bazaar, the rewards will be twenty five times more than performing it individually. The bazaar has been described in the Hadith as the “worst place on the earth”. When Salaah could be performed at such a place (and the rewards still be attained) it could similarly be performed at the parks, sports fields and the like thereof without the rewards being decreased.”

Our response:

  • We never argued with regards to the validity of the Eid Salaah at a shopping mall. But validity should not be confused with permissibility.
  • The Eidgah is to be an open field where the built-up area ends. The comparison of an Eidgah to a Bazaar is ludicrously bizarre.
  • We also did not dispute about the rewards of the Salaah. We are speaking of the Eidgah. The rewards of the Eidgah are not attained.
  • It is a not a question of whether Salaah could be performed in a bazaar or not. It is about Eid Salaah being performed at the Eidgah. If Salaah could be performed in the bazaar, it does not mean that Eid Salaah should also be performed in the bazaar or sportsfield.
  • When one performs Salaah with Jamaat in the bazaar, one gets the reward of performing Salaah with Jamaat. One does not get the reward of performing Salaah at the Musjid. In fact, if one does not go to the Musjid, one would be sinful. Without a valid reason, it is not permissible to perform one’s Salaah, albeit with Jamaat, at any other place besides the Masjid. The Masjid is the place for Salaah – not the jamaat khanas at the shopping malls. So just as one would not receive the Thawaab of the Musjid when one performs Salaah at the marketplace, malls, etc. in the same way, one will not receive the thawaab of the Sunnah Eidgah if one performs Eid Salaah at a school’s field. On the contrary, one will be sinful for leaving the Masjid if one does not have a valid reason for not performing Salaah in the Musjid. Similarly, one will be sinful for abandoning the Sunnah Eidgah and utilising an accursed venue such as a schoolfield, sportsground, campus, etc. for Eid Salaah.
  • The salafi arguer then clearly proves his lack of understanding by saying: When Salaah could be performed at such a place (and the rewards still be attained) it could similarly be performed at the parks, sports fields and the like thereof without the rewards being decreased. We are not arguing about the rewards of the Salaah. And what is his basis for claiming that the reward is not decreased for performing Salaat in an accursed place?  Despite the bazaar being the worst of places, it is a place of lawful need which even the Ambiya frequented. School grounds, sportsfields, campuses are never ever regarded as a necessity in Islam. On the contrary, they are accursed places of sin and immorality.
  • The salafi molvi also perpetrates skulduggery by saying that Salaah could be performed at a bazaar. Validity and permissibility of performing Salaah in the bazaar do not cancel  the compulsion of performing Salaah in the Masjid with jamaat. The permissibility of Salaah in the bazaar is an act totally separate from performing Salaah in the Masjid. This argument is completely fallacious.  Eid Salaah should not be performed at even a Musjid –leave alone a bazaar , and moreso an evil accursed venue.
  • Furthermore, shopping malls are not designed as places of Salaah. The place of Salaah is a Musjid. A Muslim only frequents the bazaar, mall out of necessity. One is allowed to go to such places out of necessity – real necessity. Going to the malls for a walk or to pass time is Haraam. There is much Haraam there. When one is not allowed by the Shariah to visit places of Haraam, then by what stretch of Islamic logic, could one actually utilise a Haraam venue for one’s Salaah when there are so many halaal alternatives. Performing Salaah in the mall unnecessarily instead of the Musaajid, is not permissible. A person who is unfortunately trapped in an accursed mall due to need, has no alternative other than performing Salaah there to avoid it becoming qadha. It is not permissible for him to set out from home with the express intention of performing Salaah in  the abode of the Devil. Eid Salaah is not to be performed in the Musjid – forget even the malls and the haraam sportsfields, the evil school grounds, the shaitaani campuses, and the devil’s stadiums.

The lost molvi  then presents the following irrational argument: “Often at such fields religious gatherings take place. A totally religious environment is created. Salaat is also performed. Can it be said that the reward of the Salaah performed there will decreased in any way!?”

Yes, it will be drastically decreased. The Venue for Salaah is the Musjid, not the haraam place where kuffaar, fussaaq, fujjaar and scum revel and frolic. It is incorrect to use a shameless venue for one’s Islamic gatherings. This is the fundamental error – holding a Deeni activity in a shaitaani venue. These fields are cursed. The wrath of Allah descends upon them. There is so much haraam in kuffaar sports that it makes a person wonder at the ignorance and intellectual deficiency of professed ‘scholars’ who are unable to understand that all these acts are Haraam.  Just as how a cinema or casino zina resort should not be used for an Islamic function, the same way Eid Salaah should not be read at such evil places.

We also do not and did not and are not arguing about the rewards of the Salaah. We are speaking of the Eidgah – not the Salaah. Hosting the Eid Salaah at such venues confers acceptance and permissibility, albeit false, to these  evil places. Everyone is aware that there is no proper Hijaab at the so-called ‘Muslim’ schools; that pornography is taught, and other evils such as music, pictography, haraam sport, etc, are integral to secular schools. The so-called Muslim schools are Haraam. But even Ulama lack Islamic intelligence. They shamelessly send their  children to Jahannam by admitting them to these immoral cauldrons of hell.

Recently, some ‘Ulama’ had a function at one of these so-called “Muslim” schools in the name of Moulana Qaasim Nanotwi Rahimahullah. Choosing the ‘muslim’ school as a venue for an Ulama function indicates the mental corruption of these  Ulama who organised and participated at such a function. It is not possible for an Aalim of the Haqq to have been present at such a function if he had a proper understanding of the Shariah and knew of the evils of ‘Muslim’ schools. Much Haraam takes place at these Muslim schools and yet the Ulama wish to utilise such a venue for their function. After all, it was a merrymaking function and it is obviously not difficult for us to understand why Moulana Qaasim Nanotwi Rahimahullah had stated  that the majority of the Ulama in his time were Ulama e Soo. In today’s time it is 95% or maybe even 99% of the Ulama who are Mudhilleen (misleaders) taking people straight into Jahannam via Shaitaan’s National Highway of propagating, defending and indulging in  Bid’ah and Baatil, and also remaining silent in the face of Baatil.

The slight digression was necessary to highlight the  evil of the venues which are selected  for the Eid Salaah.

The salafi molvi then states: “The above discussion leaves no doubt that any open field on the outskirts should be used as a Musalla. By performing the Eid Salaah in the Masjid, a Sunnatul Mu’akkadah is omitted and the wisdom and benefits of the Musalla is lost.”

He clearly mentions outskirts, but these parks, sportsfields, school grounds, university campuses are within the built-up area. They are not on the outskirts. When one performs Eid Salaah in the Musjid for no valid reason, then one will be discarding a Sunnatul Muakkadah! So do you think you will be fulfilling a Sunnatul Muakkadah when you perform Eid Salaah at a Mal’oon detested sportsfield which awaits Allah’s impending Athaab? Obviously No! it seems as if the molvi lacks wisdom and he does not understand the harms when one hosts an Eid Salaah at a shameless venue of the devil such as Stadiums, sports fields, school grounds, campuses, resorts, ghost parks, etc. When one will be leaving out a Sunnah by performing the Eid Salaah in a Musjid, then we are unable to understand the stupid wisdom of how it would be possible for one to be upholding the Sunnah when one performs Eid Salaah at the venue of the devil???

The Musjid has  a greater right than the venues of the devil in the absence of a proper Sunnah Eidgah – not a sports field, school ground, university campus, stadium or animal park. This fact could be better understood from the Shaafi’ view that the Musjid is adfhal (better.of greater merit) for the Eid Salaah than even the Eidgah.

The self-proclaimed ghost-mujtahids say that Eid Salaah must be on a field. However, they have failed to understand that when the Shariah says a field, it does not mean a mal’oon or evil ground. Furthermore, the Shariah stipulates that it should be where the built-up area ends. Thus, it is in fact a Bid’ah to have Eid Salaah at evil grounds. This displaces the actual Sunnah. We find many salafi-type Ulama contradicting themselves in this regard such as the salafi molvi whom we are refuting in this article.

Furthermore, don’t quote to us the views of this Aalim and that Aalim. If their views are in conflict with the Shariah, then their views will be set aside. We are not Muqallids of the Ulama of Nizaamud Deen, Dhabel, Paalanpur, Patta-pur, Alaska, Iceland, China, Antarctica or anywhere else in the world. We follow the Fuqaha whose verdict is the final word, for they understood the Shariah better than all the myriads of  hollow ‘scholars’ of this age.

Revive the Sunnah of the real Sunnah Eidgaah on the outskirts and let us stop looking for silly excuses. Twice a year, we are not prepared to stand up for the real Sunnah Eidgaah, then when will we ever be ready to defend and uphold the Sunnah of Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam. A Shaitaani venue or evil place can never be a Sunnah Eidgaah!

Amongst the most significant virtues and most praiseworthy blessings of Sehri is that Sehri/Suhoor is Masnoon/Sunnah for the fasting person.  It rejuvenates and energizes a person for the  fast which will soon commence upon the termination of the Sehri time which is at Subh Saadiq. Sehri serves and plays a great role in creating the enthusiasm and determination for one to observe the day’s fast.

Sehri assists one in fasting for the day as Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam said: Seek aid with the food of Sehri for the fast of the day, and with qailulah for the Salaat of the night (Tahajjud).” It is not merely getting up or waking up for Sehri, but one should partake of something even if it is lightly such as a glass of water or a few dates. However, those who are aware that their day would be long and a bit tough should eat more in order to gain strength for the fasting day, which is ahead.  (Qailulah is a short mid-day nap).

In addition to it being a noble act of following the Sunnah, Sehri is an act in which we would be opposing the way of the Christians and Jews. Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam said: “Verily, the difference between our Saum and the fasting of the Ahle-Kitaab (Christians and Jews) is the partaking of the Sehri meal.”

The Sehri should be delayed to its latest – but not to the extent where one would be eating after the time of Sehri has elapsed. The time when Sehri ends, is a crucial time, which demands that all eating and drinking stop well before its expiry time such as terminating one’s meal approximately five minutes before the actual time when Sehri ends. One has to be very sure and extra careful in this regard. Thus, it is also a Sunnah to have Sehri a few minutes prior to the ‘five minutes’ which precede Subh Saadiq. It should not be after Esha. Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam said: “Three things are from the Sunan/Akhlaaq of the Mursaleen (The Prophets/Ambiyaa that were sent to Mankind by Allah):

  1. Delaying of Sehri
  2. Not to delay the Iftaar (but to make haste in Iftaar)
  3. Placing the right hand over the left hand below the navel in Salaah.”

It would be very sad if we intentionally and neglectfully abandon such a meritorious Sunnah act. Deliberate abstention from Sehri is sinful. It is not permissible to abandon a Sunnah act without valid reason. Whilst we are not saying that people should have seven course meals at Sehri time, a light meal will suffice at Sehri.

Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam said: “Partake of Sehri, for verily, there is Barakah in Suhoor/Sahoor (the partaking of Sehri).”

In this Hadith, many benefits of Sehri are mentioned:

  1. Following the Sunnah. Sehri is in conformity to the Sunnah.
  2. One opposes the ways of the Kuffaar by participating in Sehri.
  3. By observing Sehri, one obtains the blessing/barkat of ease. It assists a person in his fast.
  4. One will not be questioned about Sehri as mentioned in a Hadeeth of Abu Hurairah Radhiyallahu Anhu that Hisaab (reckoning) will not be demanded on three acts: the food of Sehri, The food of Iftaar, and the food eaten with a guest.
  5. One gains strength for the A’maal of the day as well as for the fasting.
  6. A Hungry man is an angry man. By eating Sehri, the hunger is removed. And this in turn repels anger which is sometimes associated with hunger.
  7. If anyone else joins you in Sehri, it will be a means of Sadaqah.
  8. The time for Sehri is a very auspicious time. It is a time when Duas are accepted.
  9. It enables one to perform Tahajjud Salaah.
  10. It makes it easy for a person to perform his Fajr Salaah with Jamaat.
  11. It reminds one of making the Niyyat of fasting if one had not as yet made a Niyyat for the fasting.

The benefits and virtues of Tahajjud are plenty. An entire book could be compiled on the virtues and rewards of Tahajjud. Tahajjud is that Salaah which Allah Ta’ala loves as mentioned in the Ahaadeeth. In a Hadith-e-Qudsi, Allah Ta’ala said: “I am pleased with one who rises in the night and supplicates to Me (i.e. makes dua). He has abandoned his wife and the warmth of his bed for My sake.” Missing Tahajjud during the month of Ramadaan is a great misfortune.

The following incident indicates the importance of Tahajjud:

Abdullah Bin Ghaalib (rahmatullah alayh) was martyred in Jihad. After he was buried, a wondrous fragrance of  musk spread out in all directions from his grave. Every friend who saw him in a dream enquired: “Where is your abode?” He replied: ‘In Jannat.’ They then asked: ‘What is the cause of the wonderful fragrance from your grave?’ He answered: “It is the fragrance of the Qur’aan and Tahajjud.”

Tahajjud has a special Noor. Someone asked Hadhrat Hasan Basri (rahmatullah alayh): “What is the speciality of the people of Tahajjud? Their faces are more radiant than the faces of others.” Hadhrat Hasan (rahmatullah alayh) said: “They adopt solitude with Allah Ta’ala. Allah Ta’ala therefore cloaks them with the garment of Noor.”

Hadhrat Shaqeeq Balkhi (rahmatullah alayh) said that he had discovered five things in five things:

  1. The Barkat of Rizq in Chaasht (Dhuha) Salaat.
  2. Light for the Qabr in Tahajjud Salaat.
  3. Answers for the questions of Munkar and Nakeer in the Qur’aan.
  4. Crossing the Siraat (in Qiyaamah) with ease in Saum and Sadqah.
  5. The Shade of the Arsh in solitude.

Whilst according to the Shaafi’ and Hambali Math-habs, Tahajjud Salaat in Jamaat is permissible. According to the Hanafi Math-hab, it is not permissible. Hanafis should not perform Nafl Salaat with Jamaat. One should also abstain from the Shabeenah custom which has reached Bid’ah proportions. May Allah Ta’ala grant us Tawfeeq to wake up for Sehri, perform Tahajjud and may He accept all our Duas. Ameen.

Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said to Abu Zarr Ghifaari (radhiyallahu anhu): “O Aba Zarr! Should I not inform you of something which will help you on that Day (of Qiyaamah)?” Abu Zarr (radhiyallahu anhu) said: “Most certainly do so.” Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: “Fast on an extremely hot day for (your protection) on the Day of Resurrection. Perform two raka’ts in the darkness of the night for (warding off) the terror of the grave.”

Do not make graveyards of your homes. Verily, Shaitaan flees from a house in which Surah Baqarah is recited.”     (Hadith)

“Recite the Qur’aan, for verily, it will come on the Day of Qiyaamah as an intercessor for its reciters.”   (Hadith)

“Verily, these hearts rust just as iron rusts when exposed to moisture.” Someone asked: “O Rasulullah! What is its polish?” Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: “Remembrance of Maut in abundance and Tilaawat of the Qur’aan.”

Tilaawat of the Qur’aan in abundance and daily, is an indispensable act of ibaadat. The spiritual corrosion which accumulates on the heart as an effect of the polluted environment, is cleansed by Tilaawat.

Tilaawat means recitation—plain recitation. Understanding the words is not a requisite of Tilaawat. Tilaawat is an independent act of ibaadat. Modernists, entrapped by shaitaan, attempt to divert Muslims from this great act of ibaadat with the satanic argument that reciting the Qur’aan without understanding is devoid of benefit. Such people have no relationship with the Qur’aan. For them the Qur’aan is the pathway to Jahannum. They misuse, misinterpret and commit forgery in the meanings of Allah’s Kalaam, and they perform the task of shaitaan by influencing people to abandon Tilaawat.

The benefits of reciting the Qur’aan even without understanding are immense. Even in the Qabr, one’s Tilaawat will come as a protector against the chastisement of the grave. Abundance of Tilaawat protects a man from senility during old age. For every harf recited, there is a minimum of reward of ten virtuous acts.t
