Why is it that people are not interested in the fatwas of truth of the Shariah? Why are they so biased? Why do they prefer following the Ulama-e-soo’ (evil scholars)? Despite presenting so much proof, some people are not interested in the truth. It is the addiction factor coupled with ignorance and pride which hinder us from the path of Allah. Kindly read the Ahaadith below and then view the remainder of the article for Allah’s sake. The Ummah is becoming more weaker by the day, and we find that the evil Ulama are making things worse with their so-called ‘Islamic’ radio stations of Shaytaan.

Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam said: “Verily, in Ramadaan there is a Caller who announces after the first third of the night or the last third of the night: ‘Is there anyone asking for something so that he may be given what he is asking for?  Is there any seeker of forgiveness so that he may be forgiven? Is there any repenter seeking repentance so that Allah may accept his Taubah?”

Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam has said: “Allah Ta’ala descends to the first heavens every night and says: ‘Is there anyone asking so that he may be given what he is asking for? Is there anyone seeking forgiveness so that he may be forgiven? This endures until the time of  Fajr.”

Ibn Abbaas Radhiyallahu Anhu says: “Allah Ta’ala waits in the month of Ramadhaan every night until the first third of the night passes. Then He descends to the first heaven and says ‘Is there anyone asking for something so that he may be given what he is asking for?  Is there any seeker of forgiveness so that he may be forgiven? Is there any repenter seeking repentance so that Allah may accept his Taubah?”

The virtues of the month of Ramadhaan are plenty. The days and nights of Ramadhaan are very auspicious. During Ramadhaan, even that which is Halaal has become Haraam whilst one is fasting. During the day, we are not allowed to eat, drink, etc. When we are not allowed to partake in Halaal, then what does our intelligence tell us about indulgence in that which is Haraam whilst we are fasting!

Fasting from food, etc. is one type of fasting. But the greater fast is abstention from sin. Fasting from sin is the great fast in which many Muslims have failed. Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam has said: “The Fast does not consist of only abstention from eating and drinking. Verily, fasting is from laghw (nonsense/drivel/futility) and vulgarity. Thus if someone should abuse you or act ignorantly (with you), then say:Verily, I am fasting.”

We would unfortunately be wasting another Ramadhaan if we indulge in Haraam. Our fasting would then resemble a self-imposed hunger. Hence Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) narrating a Hadith Qudsi said that Allah Tabaarak Wa Ta’ala says:  “He whose limbs do not fast from My prohibitions, there is no need for his abstention from food and drink for My Sake.”

It should be understood that just as the thawaab (reward) for righteous deeds and acts of ibaadat is multiplied manifold in holy places and at times of holiness, so too is the punishment of Allah Ta’ala multiplied manifold for committing reprehensible acts in holy places and holy times such as the Month of Ramadhaan. Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: “For many a time for the Saa-im (the fasting person) there is nothing in his Fast but hunger.”

Just as the days are very auspicious, we should not be deceived into believing that the nights are not very holy because of one not being in a state of fasting during the night. Many Muslims show disregard for the Holy nights of Ramadhaan. Abstention from sin is necessary also at night. Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: “Many a time for the Qaa-im (the person who stands in Taraweeh) there is nothing in his Taraweeh but abstention from sleep.”

The worst of sins which Muslims perpetrate in Ramadhan is viewing Television and listening to the so-called Islamic Radio Stations. Many people wish to argue away the truth by saying that there is much benefit in these Shaitaan Radio stations and Shaitaani so-called Islamic TV Channels such as ‘education’, etc. Confound the benefits of these stations and understand well that there are benefits in pig, beer, gambling and every Haraam act. Despite the benefits, these acts remain Haraam.

The fact that TV is Haraam is clear. It is photography of animate objects. And this is Haraam. Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam said: “the worst of people on the Day of Qiyaamah will be the picture-makers.” Thus, watching ITV and its sisters are Haraam. All TV programs are Haraam. It is Haraam to watch Makkah and Madinah Taraweeh. One doesn’t need brains to understand this fact. As far as the Shaitaani so-called Islamic Radio Stations are concerned, the following Haraam acts are associated with them:

  • Women on air: According to all the Fuqaha, it is not permissible for a woman to project her voice. The manner in which women speak over these so-called Islamic stations is absolutely Haraam. Only a jaahil opines the opposite of it being permissible. It is a clear exhibition of jahiliyyah prostitution.
  • Discarding and total violation of Hijaab. It is not permissible for a woman to leave her home in order to participate in a radio program as a presenter, etc. Furthermore, these Shaitaani radio and TV stations violate the laws of Hijaab in several ways.
  • Interviewing women and giving mini biographies of women.
  • Indulging in Photography, Videos, etc.
  • Facebook links and linking people to much Haraam.
  • Airing and propagating Baatil views in the name of Islam.
  • Associated with the Ulama e Soo and The Mudhilleen. We can point out that each and every so-called Islamic radio station in South Africa is associated with evil Ulama. Insha Allah, in the future, we will tackle each radio station separately.
  • Participating in Haraam shows, souks, awards, and functions.
  • Associated with the halaal certifiers such as Sanha, MJC, ICSA, NIHT, etc. All of them are faasiq. They know this themselves.
  • Propagating Bid’ah acts such as congregational loud thikr.
  • Engaging in much futility and drivel.
  • The Radio stations of Shaitaan in the guise of Islam are guilty of imitating the Kuffaar in many of their programs. Their emulation and mimicking of kuffaar presenters and broadcasters is indeed very despicable. Tashabbuh is Haraam and dangerous for one’s Imaan. And, this is a million times worse for Muslim women who mimic kuffaar women like clowns in their  They make apes and fools of themselves when they  attempt to capture the natural mannerism of kuffaar women in their voices  when making their devilish  radio presentations and announcements.
  • Advertising and Promoting Haraam.
  • Allowing Shias, salafis, fussaaq and other rubbishes to come on air.
  • Zina of various degrees on the radio station.
  • Allowing women to phone in during programs. The Molvis and Muftis of these stations are indeed very be-hayaa. It makes us wonder – What did their Ustaads even teach them in Madrasah?
  • Women and men cracking jokes together.
  • Women reading out recipes and news. It is difficult to even believe that ‘Ulama’ come on these stations when they know that so many men are listening to the womenfolk. Did Hazrat Ayesha Radhiyallahu Anha read out recipes and news to the menfolk? Those who come on these radio and TV stations are not worthy of the ‘Ulama’ title. They are among the worse
  • And one of their worst acts is their competitions and dramas in Ramadaan. Can these stations ever be termed ‘Islamic’?
  • Treating the great night of Eid like an amusement night when the reality is that this night is greater than even Lailatul Qadr.
  • Haraam Nazms and Nasheeds. According to all four Math-habs, Nazm Jalsahs and singing Nazms, Naats, etc. for a public audience is Haraam. But these shayaateen of the Radio Stations are not interested in the truth. They are experts at presenting lame excuses and spinning baatil so that it appears halaal to the ignorant masses.
  • Justifying all the Haraam they are involved in.

In this way do they destroy the most auspicious Nights of the year, and along with this destruction, do they ruin the Imaan and Morality of the ignorant masses.

The above are merely a few evils and Haraams associated with these so-called ‘islamic’ radios, which are in fact the ‘forces’ of Shaitaan. These stations are flagrantly and openly aiding evil. It is obviously not permissible to increase the listenership of a radio station which promotes and indulges in such open Haraam acts. It is not permissible to listen to even the ‘good’ of these so-called stations. Your Imaan is in danger with these stations. They will always present all their baatil and falsehood as the truth. As a layman, you will fall in their Shaitaani trap.

According to the principles of Fiqh, warding off harm is incumbent and is  given preference over the acquisition of benefit. The harms and evils of these radio stations outweigh the good by far. Thus, it is not all permissible to listen to these so-called ‘Islamic’ stations. The Ahaadith mention about Allah Ta’ala descending to the first Heaven on these nights while the people are ruining themselves by wasting the holy and valuable nights listening to the evil radio stations and participating in haraam radio competitions. Instead of engaging in ibaadat, they listen to the haraam radios broadcasting their shaitaaniyat. Is this how we as Muslims are supposed to behave?

It is Haraam for men to listen to the womenfolk. Likewise it is haraam for women to listen to men singing nazams. It is Haraam to listen to the Nazms, especially for women. There are many more evils associated. They are in fact leading people astray.

It is thus only a very unfortunate person who is deprived from the mercy of Allah Ta’ala during this month of Ramadhaan in which Allah Ta’ala sends down his special mercy as is mentioned in the Hadith. Indulgence in sin especially by listening to these radio stations or by watching TV is depriving one’s self of the blessing of Ramadhaan. One is depriving one’s self of the special Rahmat of Ramadhaan. This deprivation is  a sign of Allah’s curse on  the radios of shaitaan and on those who waste the holy nights listening to the haraam and the muck of these shaitaani radio stations.

A sinner deprives himself due to his addiction to Haraam. Despite the Shayaateen being chained, we find Muslims indulging, speaking, listening and viewing much Shaitaaniyat during the Holy month of Ramadhaan via these shaitaani radio stations and TV channels. Such a sacred and valuable month, but yet we remain deaf, dumb and blind…

The following acts should be carried out:

  1. Engage in Dua before Iftaar.
  2. Break the fast as soon as the sun has set.
  3. Break the fast with dates and water – stay away from pies, etc. at Iftaar time.
  4. Engage in Iftaar while the Athaan is called.
  5. After Athaan, engage in Dua and Thikr.
  6. Abstain from worldly talk and do not bring any cooked food, juices or Haraam soft-drinks to the Musjid nor destroy your Fast, spiritual and physical health with haraam and mushtabah food, e.g. carrion chickens.

For a Mu’min, there are two occasions of delight mentioned in the Hadeeth:

  • Delight/happiness at the time of Iftaar
  • Delight/happiness at the time of Meeting his Rabb.

Iftaar is a very great Sunnah. In a Hadith-e-Qudsi, Allah Ta’ala says: “Verily, the most beloved servants to Me are those who are the quickest in Iftaar.” (Note: A salient feature of the shiahs is to delay Iftaar) According  to  the  Hadith,  the  moments  of  Iftaar  are  most auspicious. Love for Allah is in following the Sunnah as the Qur’aan says.

Furthermore, Iftaar should be made in the way Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) instructed us to observe Iftaar. Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: “Whoever finds dates should break the fast with it, and whoever has no dates, should make iftaar with water.”

In another Hadith  it is mentioned:

“Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) used to break the fast with three dates or with something which the fire did not touch (i.e. it was not prepared or it was an uncooked item).”

The Sunnah way of Iftaar is in dates and water – not in feasting.  Pies, samoosas, badjyas, moons, spring-rolls, haleem, daltjies, pakoras, chips, and the balance should all be consumed after Maghrib Salaah, i.e. after the Awwabeen Salaah. Sad to say, we do not show interest in Nafl Salaah in the month of Ramadaan whereas one receives the thawaab of a Fardh when one performs a Nafl in Ramadaan. There is much virtue in Awwabeen Salaah after Maghrib, Tahajjud, Chaasht and Ishraaq Salaah. We should not discard these Nawaafil, especially in Ramadhaan.

By having pies and samoosas, etc. at Iftaar time, one will be discarding the Sunnah. And discarding a Sunnah is a major crime. In addition to discarding the Sunnah, the health is harmed with the sudden ingestion of an abundance of food in a contracted stomach. Whatever the Deen has ordered us is for our benefit – spiritual and physical benefit. In fact, it is much worse in Ramadhaan. Reviving the Sunnah brings about Nur. The whole day we were fasting, thus we should end off our fasting in the best of ways. And the best of ways is the Sunnah.

We should not be greedy and impatient at Iftaar time. Furthermore, we should make it a point to abstain from all soft drinks, at least in Ramadaan. These drinks are  Haraam.

Perform Maghrib Salaah and Awwabeen calmly and with concentration and then enjoy the samoosas and pies thereafter at home.

The occasion of Iftaar is a time of great barkat and Maqbooliyyat. Duas are quickly accepted at this time. According to the Hadith, at least  one  dua  made  at  the  time  of  Iftaar  is  assured  of acceptance.  The  time  of  Iftaar  should,  therefore,  not  be squandered in feasting. Iftaar is not the time for feasting and filling the stomach. Break the fast lightly with dates the Sunnah Way.

Spend a few minutes before Iftaar and the couple of minutes after Iftaar (before Maghrib Salaat) in Dua or Thikr. Come to the Musjid a bit earlier and make niyyat of Nafl I’tikaaf thereby deriving maximum benefit and thawaab. Engage in Dua or Thikr until the Athaan. Break the fast with dates as soon as the Athaan goes or as soon as the time of Iftaar is confirmed, even before Athaan. The fast may be ended as soon as the sun has set. It is not necessary to wait for the Athaan. But be sure of sunset. By the time the Athaan has ended, your Iftaar Ibaadat will have been completed.

Observance of the Sunnat Way of Iftaar allows you to be in the Musjid before the Athaan. You gain the thawaab of Nafl I’tikaaf and the benefit of the holy minutes to spend in Dua and Thikr. You are saved from rushing to Musjid, from missing a raka’t or part of the first raka’t, and from panting in your Salaat due to having rushed to Musjid. The Sunnat Way enables you to perform your Ibaadat in a dignified and calm manner. Remember that Iftaar is not the time for feasting.

After Maghrib, there is no need to rush from the Musjid. Perform at least four raka’ts Salaatul Awwabeen, preferably six rakaats, after the Sunnat and Nafl of Maghrib. Ramadhaan is the opportunity for increasing your stock of ibaadat and for fortifying your Rooh and for weakening and neutralizing your nafs.

May Allah Ta’ala bestow to us all the taufeeq to perform our ibaadat correctly in accordance with the Sunnah of Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam).

Rasulallah (Sallallahu ‘Alayhi Wasallam) has said that the one who performs six Rak’aahs after Maghrib without uttering an evil word between these rak’aahs, then these six rak’aahs will be equivalent to 12 years ibaadat for that person. (Tirmizi)

Sayyiduna Ammaar ibn Yaasir (Radhiallaahu Anhu) narrates that Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) said, ‘Whosoever performs 6 Rakaats after Maghrib Salaat, all his sins will be forgiven even if they equal the foam of the sea.’ (Tabrani)

We mentioned above the Sunnah method of breaking one’s fast, i.e. with dates or water. There is no need for  sumptuous dishes at the time of Iftaar. We should understand that Ramadhaan is not a time for merrymaking and futility. It is not a time for inviting friends and family for silly Iftaar feasts. Such Iftaar feasts are in conflict with the Shariah especially due to the abandonment of Hijaab. There is no proper Hijaab nowadays when friends and families get together. They massacre and murder the laws of Hijaab in Ramadaan and on Eids day and then they are unable to understand why there is so much difficulty in their lives. Let us also remember that wasting is much worse in Ramadaan. The Bid’ah Iftaar Parties and ‘Ramadaan Braais’ are undoubtedly Haraam.

Haleem Bid’ah feasting and feasting in the Musjid at Iftaar time are amongst the most despicable Bid’ahs in Ramadaan. The sanctity of the Musjid is defiled with the smell of all the savouries.

Amongst the most significant virtues and most praiseworthy blessings of Sehri is that Sehri/Suhoor is Masnoon/Sunnah for the fasting person.  It rejuvenates and energizes a person for the  fast which will soon commence upon the termination of the Sehri time which is at Subh Saadiq. Sehri serves and plays a great role in creating the enthusiasm and determination for one to observe the day’s fast.

Sehri assists one in fasting for the day as Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam said: Seek aid with the food of Sehri for the fast of the day, and with qailulah for the Salaat of the night (Tahajjud).” It is not merely getting up or waking up for Sehri, but one should partake of something even if it is lightly such as a glass of water or a few dates. However, those who are aware that their day would be long and a bit tough should eat more in order to gain strength for the fasting day, which is ahead.  (Qailulah is a short mid-day nap).

In addition to it being a noble act of following the Sunnah, Sehri is an act in which we would be opposing the way of the Christians and Jews. Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam said: “Verily, the difference between our Saum and the fasting of the Ahle-Kitaab (Christians and Jews) is the partaking of the Sehri meal.”

The Sehri should be delayed to its latest – but not to the extent where one would be eating after the time of Sehri has elapsed. The time when Sehri ends, is a crucial time, which demands that all eating and drinking stop well before its expiry time such as terminating one’s meal approximately five minutes before the actual time when Sehri ends. One has to be very sure and extra careful in this regard. Thus, it is also a Sunnah to have Sehri a few minutes prior to the ‘five minutes’ which precede Subh Saadiq. It should not be after Esha. Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam said: “Three things are from the Sunan/Akhlaaq of the Mursaleen (The Prophets/Ambiyaa that were sent to Mankind by Allah):

  1. Delaying of Sehri
  2. Not to delay the Iftaar (but to make haste in Iftaar)
  3. Placing the right hand over the left hand below the navel in Salaah.”

It would be very sad if we intentionally and neglectfully abandon such a meritorious Sunnah act. Deliberate abstention from Sehri is sinful. It is not permissible to abandon a Sunnah act without valid reason. Whilst we are not saying that people should have seven course meals at Sehri time, a light meal will suffice at Sehri.

Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam said: “Partake of Sehri, for verily, there is Barakah in Suhoor/Sahoor (the partaking of Sehri).”

In this Hadith, many benefits of Sehri are mentioned:

  1. Following the Sunnah. Sehri is in conformity to the Sunnah.
  2. One opposes the ways of the Kuffaar by participating in Sehri.
  3. By observing Sehri, one obtains the blessing/barkat of ease. It assists a person in his fast.
  4. One will not be questioned about Sehri as mentioned in a Hadeeth of Abu Hurairah Radhiyallahu Anhu that Hisaab (reckoning) will not be demanded on three acts: the food of Sehri, The food of Iftaar, and the food eaten with a guest.
  5. One gains strength for the A’maal of the day as well as for the fasting.
  6. A Hungry man is an angry man. By eating Sehri, the hunger is removed. And this in turn repels anger which is sometimes associated with hunger.
  7. If anyone else joins you in Sehri, it will be a means of Sadaqah.
  8. The time for Sehri is a very auspicious time. It is a time when Duas are accepted.
  9. It enables one to perform Tahajjud Salaah.
  10. It makes it easy for a person to perform his Fajr Salaah with Jamaat.
  11. It reminds one of making the Niyyat of fasting if one had not as yet made a Niyyat for the fasting.

The benefits and virtues of Tahajjud are plenty. An entire book could be compiled on the virtues and rewards of Tahajjud. Tahajjud is that Salaah which Allah Ta’ala loves as mentioned in the Ahaadeeth. In a Hadith-e-Qudsi, Allah Ta’ala said: “I am pleased with one who rises in the night and supplicates to Me (i.e. makes dua). He has abandoned his wife and the warmth of his bed for My sake.” Missing Tahajjud during the month of Ramadaan is a great misfortune.

The following incident indicates the importance of Tahajjud:

Abdullah Bin Ghaalib (rahmatullah alayh) was martyred in Jihad. After he was buried, a wondrous fragrance of  musk spread out in all directions from his grave. Every friend who saw him in a dream enquired: “Where is your abode?” He replied: ‘In Jannat.’ They then asked: ‘What is the cause of the wonderful fragrance from your grave?’ He answered: “It is the fragrance of the Qur’aan and Tahajjud.”

Tahajjud has a special Noor. Someone asked Hadhrat Hasan Basri (rahmatullah alayh): “What is the speciality of the people of Tahajjud? Their faces are more radiant than the faces of others.” Hadhrat Hasan (rahmatullah alayh) said: “They adopt solitude with Allah Ta’ala. Allah Ta’ala therefore cloaks them with the garment of Noor.”

Hadhrat Shaqeeq Balkhi (rahmatullah alayh) said that he had discovered five things in five things:

  1. The Barkat of Rizq in Chaasht (Dhuha) Salaat.
  2. Light for the Qabr in Tahajjud Salaat.
  3. Answers for the questions of Munkar and Nakeer in the Qur’aan.
  4. Crossing the Siraat (in Qiyaamah) with ease in Saum and Sadqah.
  5. The Shade of the Arsh in solitude.

Whilst according to the Shaafi’ and Hambali Math-habs, Tahajjud Salaat in Jamaat is permissible. According to the Hanafi Math-hab, it is not permissible. Hanafis should not perform Nafl Salaat with Jamaat. One should also abstain from the Shabeenah custom which has reached Bid’ah proportions. May Allah Ta’ala grant us Tawfeeq to wake up for Sehri, perform Tahajjud and may He accept all our Duas. Ameen.

Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said to Abu Zarr Ghifaari (radhiyallahu anhu): “O Aba Zarr! Should I not inform you of something which will help you on that Day (of Qiyaamah)?” Abu Zarr (radhiyallahu anhu) said: “Most certainly do so.” Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: “Fast on an extremely hot day for (your protection) on the Day of Resurrection. Perform two raka’ts in the darkness of the night for (warding off) the terror of the grave.”

You might be aware that Sanha has posters/pamphlets/leaflets which they distribute in order to promote their tarnished reputation. Sanha has recently ‘warned’ the community regarding slaughtering rumours on poultry and meat products as its heading states. Our objective is to inform the community of being aware of such rumours.

Too many rumours in the Muslim community abound due to the corrupt state of the Ummah. The fact that Rainbow and Early Bird chickens are Haraam is a fact. Sanha is not really trusted by the intelligent ones. All intelligent people have already realised that Sanha is making a wild claim that their chickens are Halaal. Let us give you an example of Sanha feeding the Ummah Haraam meat.

In 2008, The NIHT inspected the ANCA chicken plant which was at that time certified as Halaal by Sanha. Although Sanha does not certify ANCA currently, it is necessary for Muslims to know that Sanha did feed the Ummah haraam meat in the past and currently, it is also doing so. So what happened at ANCA?

The NIHT established that 87% of the chickens were Haraam. The Majlis did not say so! Mufti A.K. of CII did not say so! The Jamiat Gauteng did not say so! Mufti Ilyas did not say so! Moulana Olgar did not say so! The Jamiat Northern Cape did not say so! But Sanhas sister-body, NIHT said so! They inspected the plant without Sanha knowing about it. And they discovered that Sanha was feeding the Ummah Haraam.

Sanha boasts to the Ummah of its professionalism. Where was Sanha’s supervisor at ANCA? The slaughterers also gave affidavits that Tasmiyah was not recited on every chicken and that the birds were not properly cut. And all of this at a speed of ‘only’ 16 birds per minute. If you have intelligence, then you can form your own fatwa regarding the status of Rainbow, Earlybird and all the other carrion plants. What is so difficult in understanding that they are Haraam. In fact, Mufti Ebrahim Desai knows very well that the slaughterers don’t read Tasmiyah on all the chickens at Rainbow. We were informed a few days ago that Mufti Motara of Azaadville doubts Rainbow Chickens. So even the silent supporting Ulama of Sanha doubt Sanha. In fact, Mufti Motara does not trust Sanhas beef at all and does NOT eat Sanhas beef. So what do you expect us to say when so many senior Ulama are doubting Sanha?

It is of no benefit for Sanha to simply say that the people of Truth are spreading rumours when there is so much proof against Sanha. Have you read Sanhas 223 page document. If you read it, you wont trust Sanha because this document today goes against Sanha although Sanha tried to smash the MJC with this document. In this document, you will find that everything what we are saying against Sanha, Sanha said against the MJC. When the MJC did the wrongs, then Sanha was right. Now, when Sanha is doing the very same wrongs which the MJC did, then all of a sudden Sanha remains right and we are accused of spreading rumours. Is this called justice? Do not hesitate to write to us and we will Insha Allah email you a copy of the 223 page document which will shock you and make you realise that Sanha knew that the Ummah was eating Haraam, yet they did NOT inform the Ummah!

All the Ulama know that commercial chickens are doubtful. Yet, Sanha certifies them as Halaal. An Aalim who says that Sanha is trustworthy is not being honest in his opinion. He knows that a lot of things which Sanha has certified as Halaal, are not Halaal according to him. Shellac and ethanol are conspicuous examples of this.

Sanha says that the slaughterers are speaking lies. On the issue of ANCA, even the NIHTs’ inspection of Sanhas plant confirmed that the Sanha chickens were Haraam. It is very easy to accuse the people of Haqq of bribing the slaughterers, whereas the slaughterers were not bribed. If you are interested in evidence, then write to us.

Mufti A.K. Hoosen of CII does not trust Sanha. Now just look at that. Now when Ramadaan time comes and a fatwa is given that one should be careful what meat one uses for one’s pastries, then we are declared as rumour-mongerers. We said that even Mufti Motara does not trust Sanhas beef. Great Ulama such as Mufti A.K. and Mufti Ilyas have written that Rainbow is Haraam. They inspected Sanhas plants themselves and have retracted their views of Halaal! Was Mufti A.K. and Mufti Ilyas also bribed to say that Rainbow is Haraam?

We have Fikr (concern) for our mothers, sisters, daughters and wives. We don’t want them to use haraam meat in the preparation of savouries for Ramadaan. Eating Haraam and doubtful foods in Ramadaan is much more worse. Now let us analyze the reality. When Sanhas Ulama go for pre-planned inspections, then everything is Halaal. But, when Ulama who are not associated with Sanha undertake an unannounced unfettered inspection, then a lot of Haraam is discovered. Kindly view confessions below of unannounced inspections.

Ulama Confessions:

“It was also clearly observed that the slaughterers only passed the knife very superficially over the necks of the chickens. On closer inspection it was found that many, if not most of the birds were just nicked with the knife. In many cases the knife of the slaughterers barely cut the skin on the necks of the poor chickens.”

“The birds came relentlessly (moving swiftly on the conveyor belt). The slaughterers held the birds’ necks with their left hands and slit the necks. The slaughtering was done very lightly. In fact, so lightly, that I and my other colleagues saw plenty of chicks with only nips in the necks. We examined a few thoroughly and they did not have even a single vein cut. Only the skin was cut.”

Are these Ulama liars? Does anyone in the world have any proof to come forward and say that the above two confessions of the Ulama are false when these two Ulama had seen it with their own eyes -the reality at a Sanha plant??? The inspections of the Ulama who are not associated to Sanha are more reliable and more credible. The views of the Ulama who support Sanha are not valid as they are merely spreading Sanha rumours. Dozens of slaughterers have testified against Sanha. Were they all bribed? To advertise on Sanhas front page of its so-called halaal gazette, one needs to pay R40 000-00. So, why was Sanha unable to bribe the slaughterers when they earning so much ‘bucks’?

There is so much evidence from even Sanha supervisors to prove what we are saying. Thus according to the Shariah, commercial chickens are Haraam. Abandoning tasmiyah and not cutting the necessary neck vessels is confirmed. Now when such a deluge of evidence is in front of us, do you expect us to say that Rainbow is Halaal? Do you expect us to say that Sanha is Islamically credible?

Without the slightest trepidation or fear, we state that Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam ordered us to fast on the Fifteen of Sha’baan. A study of the Ahaadeeth reveals this fact. Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam loved to be in a state of fasting whilst his actions are being raised to Allah Ta’ala. This appears in authentic Ahaadeeth (Ahmed – Tirmizi – Ibn Majah – Nasaai – Jaamiul Usool – Kanzul Ummaal – Mishkaat – Musnad Ahmed – Tahaawi).

The Fuqaha accept that A’maal are raised to Allah Ta’ala on the night of fifteen Sha’baan. This is also mentioned in the Hadith kutub. Thus, it is understood that the fifteenth of Sha’baan is one of those days which Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam loved to fast.

Why would Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam not love to fast on fifteen Sha’baan when Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam himself says that he loves to be fasting when his A’maal are presented to Allah Ta’ala?

In Mirqaat, Mulla Ali Qaari Rahimullah states:

“And what is apparent to me now is that on the night of fifteenth Sha’baan the A’maal of the previous year are presented just as how everything which would take place the next upcoming year are written on this night. And that is why (Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) said “Stand in Ibaadah at night and fast during the day (of Fifteen Sha’baan).”

The fact that the fifteenth of Sha’baan is an auspicious day including the night which precedes it, is undoubtedly unquestionable. The auspiciousness of these occasions has been taught to the Ummah since the past fourteen centuries by the illustrious Ulama and authorities of the Shariah. Thus, it is undoubtedly inappropriate to even make an attempt to dismiss the validity of practices which enjoy the Ta-aamul of our Akaabireen.

The following are the Sunnah/Masnoon practices/A’maal of Shabe Baraat:

  1. To remain awake during the night as much as possible and engage in individual ibaadat – not congregational ibaadat.
  2. To fast during the day
  3. To visit the graveyard at night.

Whilst some Ahaadeeth may have been declared to be weak by some ‘Muhadditheen’, they are in fact very authentic with specific reference to the three A’maal mentioned above. The Ahaadeeth are backed up with the amal of the Ulama.  Maaliki Fuqaha attach much emphasis on fasting the 15th of Sha’baan. It is mustahab and the most virtuous fast of the month according to them.  Some Shaafi’ Fuqaha have written that fasting on the 15th is matloob and ma-moor (desired and instructed). In the Fataawa of Shaikh Ramli the fast of the 15th is declared to be Sunnat and the Hadeeth in this regard is judged to be qaabil-e-hujjat (worthy of proof). One view of the Hanaabilah is that the fast on the 15th is the most emphasised of Sha’baan. This is a clear proof for the Ta’aamul of the Fuqaha on the issue of fasting on the fifteen Sha’baan.

Allamah Ibn Humaam explicitly states in Fathul Qadeer:

“And from amongst the factors which render a Hadeeth ‘Saheeh’ (authentic), is the amal (action) of the Ulama in conformity to the Hadeeth.”

The Hadith which exhorts one to fast on Fifteen Sha’baan mentioned in Ibn Majah is authentic. It satisfies the principle of Talaqqi Bil Qubool as explained above. Talaqqi Bil Qubool means that the Fuqaha have accorded acceptance to this Hadith.

In order to understand these issues of Talaqqi Bil qubool and the utility of the Muhadditheen in detail, one needs to read the book Tresses of Jannah. Each Muhaddith had his own criteria for accepting or rejecting Ahaadeeth. Likewise, the experts of Ahkaam, i.e. The Fuqaha also had criteria for accepting or rejecting Ahaadeeth. How is it possible for them to be experts in Ahkaam without understanding the science of Hadeeth fully?

We do not also blindly follow what the Muhadditheen say. We do not make their Taqleed – neither in Hadeeth, nor in Fiqh. The narrator in Ibn Majah, Hazrat Abu Bakr Ibn Abi Saboorah was privileged with the seat of Iftaa in Madeenah Munawwarah. Imaam Abu Dawood Rahimahullah said: “He was the Mufti of Ahle-Madinah (The people of Madinah).”

He lived in Khairul Quroon and was the judge (Qaadhi) before Imaam Abu Yusuf Rahimahullah. In the presence of Imaam Maalik and other great Fuqahaa-e-Mujtahideen of the time, it would never have been possible for him to be a Qaadhi and the accepted Mufti of Madinah if he was a fabricator (Nauthu Billah).

Similarly, it would not have been possible for Imaam Maalik to mention and propose Hazrat Ibn Abi Saboorah’s name as one of three pious and recognized persons of the sacred city at the time. This was in response to the query from Mansoor, the Khalifah of the time at Madeenah Munawwarah. Imaam Maalik was asked: In Madinah, which Mashaaikh are left?”

Imaam Maalik responded: “Ibn Abi Zi’b, Ibn Abi Saburah, and Ibn Abi Salmah Al-Maajishoon.”

The above suffices to explain how great Hazrat Abu Bakr Ibn Abi Saburah Rahmatullahi Alayh was. His truthfulness and integrity are proven by the fact that he was the Mufti of Madinah Munawwarah in the presence of Imaam Maalik. What more should we even say in order to reject what some Muhadditheen have to say about him. The criticism of the Muhadditheen has to be dismissed as baseless.  It should not be difficult to understand that it is Sunnah to fast on fifteen Sha’baan. The principle of Talaqqi Bil Qubool is enough for us Muqallideen who should not try to act bigger than our boots when even the Muhadditheen were unable to reach the toes of the Fuqaha!
